Ollie Course: Greatest Pianists of All Time, Part 2

Wednesdays Sept. 21, Sept. 28, Oct. 12, Oct. 19, Oct. 26, Nov. 2
3:30pm to 5pm

This program is a six-week-long course presented by OLLI at Berkshire Community College in the Berkshire Museum's theater. You may sign up for any of the six sessions individually or register to attend the complete course.

The current in vogue abbreviation G.O.A.T stands for the Greatest of All Time. It usually refers to sports legends, and more recently, Jeopardy champions. But what about music. We will delve into the past and present G.O.A.T violin compositions, the violinists that performed those pieces, and even the violins on which they played. If you were asked, who are the best violinists of all time, I would bet we would name many of the same greats. But there may be some amazing surprises regarding the violin compositions, and those who performed those popular and recognizable pieces.

Instructor: Ken Stark is active in the Berkshires community, serving on multiple Boards of Directors including for 18 Degrees (formerly Berkshire Children and Families), the Berkshire Bach Society, and the Berkshire Theatre Group. He is also on the Advisory Committee for Kids4Harmony. He is a former professor at the City College of New York and school psychologist for the NYC Department of Education.

If you’d like to attend an individual session in this OLLI course, you may use this registration page. To sign up for the full course, please register on OLLI's website.
